“In my experience, the festive period is not always 'merry' for people who are undergoing cancer treatment. I wanted to draw something by hand (very important to me – no computer involved) to express the themes of joyful friendship, sensitive kindness, and healing through the natural world. I also wanted to include the symbols of the pink ribbon and entwined hearts that are important to Breast Friends – a brilliant support organisation.” – Charmaine McKissock
